The Playa Hermosa community takes a lot of pride in its beautiful beach with organized tree planting yearly and clean-up daily. Many of the homes in this beach town overlook the beautiful Papagayo Gulf. There is an overwhelming amount of water activities offered such as stand-up-paddle, sport fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, and sailing and catamaran tours. There are also several restaurants on the beach you may want to stop to watch the beautiful sunset.
There are two Playa Hermosa’s in Costa Rica, the other in the Central Pacific Coast next to the town of Jaco (Haco) in the province of Puntarenas which has large swells and great for surfing. There are several national parks within a short traveling distance from Hermosa Beach: Palo Verde National Park (Parque Nacional Palo Verde), Santa Rosa National Park (Parque Nacional Santa Rosa) Rincon de la Vieja National Park (Parque Nacional Rincon de la Vieja). Costa Rica has diverse ecosystems and you can view this and the wildlife at any of these parks.
